When ERGObaby offered me one of their baby carriers to try out, I jumped at the chance as I’m a huge fan of wearing my little munchkin. Even though he’s only 13 weeks old, we’ve already gone through four types of baby carriers and the ERGO is our fifth and final as the search is over for the perfect one. The ERGO is a soft carrier that can hold a newborn up to toddler age and is super versatile. Just snap on the ERGO in the front for the wee ones and when they get bigger, strap the ERGO on the back and the toddlers will love it. You can even use the ERGO in the hip-carrier position. We tried the ERGObaby for two straight days and here is why we loved it so much. First, it is so comfortable to wear baby, you almost forget you have something buckled around your waist and shoulders. The fabric is really soft (we tried the organic line) and the way the ERGO is designed, the weight of the baby is kept off of your lower back so no straining. Instead the weight is evenly distributed to the hips and shoulders. We loved the fact that little one’s legs weren’t flailing around and he was supported by our bodies. One of my biggest worries when wearing our baby is that it’s somehow going to affect his growth and posture but I know with the ERGO this isn’t going to happen. My husband and I are both average height and it fits us great but it’s good to know that it works on adults from 5’0 to 6’4”. So mommy and daddy were loving the ERGO, how did the little guy like it? He is a really, really long baby so it’s hard to get him comfortable in a carrier but it wasn’t a problem with the ERGO. Since he’s on the big side for his age we didn’t need the infant insert which is for babies 7 to 15 pounds. He was all about the ERGO and loved the sitting position he was in and how close he was to the two of us. He is a cat napper and the ERGObaby turned those 10 minute naps into half hour ones which meant happy baby, happy parents. We truly think the ERGO and his positioning in it was soothing and lead to him sleeping better at night as well….huge bonus!! We had some rain the weekend we were trying it out and he loved the hood to protect his precious little head. Again, super soft on baby’s skin. Okay, so those are the main reasons we’re convinced there is no better baby carrier than the ERGO but here are some extra ones. Easy to wash, throw it in the washing machine on cold and dry on low and all clean again. You can get tons more stuff done around the house when wearing your babe in an ERGO. ERGObaby has lots of accessories you can purchase to add to your ERGO experience. The ERGObaby definitely saves you money in the long run since it can be used from birth til toddler age unlike other baby carriers. It’s really well-made so you can use it for your next kid or two or three kids. We already know when it comes time to have a second little one, we won’t be buying a double stroller. We’ll just put one in the ERGO and the other in the stroller we already have so we’ll be saving money there. Need one more reason to love the ERGO? ERGObaby practices fair labor in their factory in China and at the manufacturing facilities they partner with in India. Simple and Posh is always excited when a product is awesome but when the company is awesome too, we love it even more.
